Overview:
The Moonlight Fund is a non-profit organization that provides 24/7 assistance to burn survivors and their family members, as well as families who have lost a loved one to a burn injury by addressing their financial, emotional and physical needs in acute situations, in the hour of need.
In addition to the human loss and suffering from a burn injury, often homes and personal belongings are destroyed as a result of fire and even jobs are lost due to extended medical treatment.
What's more, many burn patients are uninsured or on government assistance, encumbering them and their families financially when ongoing treatment, such as physical therapy or psychological counseling, is needed the most.
