Overview:
St. Clare Inn is a small, intimate transitional residence for women who are homeless, without family, and challenged with mental health issues.
Single homeless women between the ages of 35-60 are the most underserved in our society. These homeless women, unlike men, are mostly invisible to the public. This invisibleness may be due to their nature, and to their living in emergency shelters and hostels or to their inclination for sleeping in places considered unfit for human habitation, such as parks, ravines, doorways, vehicles and abandoned buildings.
"Absolute homelessness" is the term used to describe their plight.
For these women, St. Clare Inn is a welcoming refuge, a stable environment founded on respect, peace, safety, and dignity for each woman. Here, in a compassionate and caring home-like setting, women can heal and grow with external support from professional social services.
Within this caring community, these women can once again live independent, meaningful lives.
