9. Children's Rehabilitation Foundation

Overview:
The Children's Rehabilitation Foundation is the fund-raising arm for the Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC). Over 22,000 visits are made to RCC services each year.

The Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC) provides children with disabilities with services that enable them to live with independence and ability in their own homes, schools and communities. Area of service includes Manitoba, Nunavut, parts of Saskatchewan and North West Ontario.

The funds are allocated, where there is insufficient funding from other sources, in the following areas:
  • Individual children's equipment. Examples include: lightweight wheelchairs, voice simulators, specialized bikes, computer access technology.
  • Therapy equipment, adapted toys, artificial limb manufacturing equipment.
  • Skill development. Supports the RCC rehab professionals in collaborating on national and international levels.
  • Research for pediatric rehabilitation.
