Overview:
Braz for the Cause is a grassroots organization run entirely by volunteers. Our mission is to make a difference in our community by providing short-term financial aid for those with a demonstrated need and undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Braz raises money year round at a number of local events; the signature event is the annual women only "Fling'em for Breast Cancer" gala.
Monies raised by Braz do not fund research but directly support breast cancer patients through the Massel-Cruickshank fund by way of the Breast Cancer Patient Support Program (LRCP). This includes child-care, anti-pain and nausea medication not covered by insurance, taxi fares, parking, wigs, prostheses and palliative care. Anything that improves the quality of life of the individual with breast cancer will be given consideration.
Our fund serves a population of 1.5 million people in Southwestern Ontario.
